Veterans Day 2016

a-veterans-day

The Country life team salutes all Military Veterans who have served our Country.

Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I.  The major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Country Life values military service and is a Veterans friendly employer.  We are proud of the care we provide to Veterans and the recoveries they have been able to achieve.

Happy Birthday Marine Corps

bb-usmc

November 10, 1775 is the official birthday of the the Marine Corps. That was the day when the  Second Continental Congress established the Continental Marines with the following decree:

That two battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two lieutenant-colonels, two majors and other officers, as usual in other regiments; that they consist of an equal number of privates as with other battalions, that particular care be taken that no persons be appointed to offices, or enlisted into said battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve for and during the present war with Great Britain and the Colonies; unless dismissed by Congress; that they be distinguished by the names of the First and Second Battalions of Marines.

Tun Tavern located in Philadelphia is regarded as the birthplace of the Marine Corps as the location of the first Marines to enlist.  Thats right, the Marines were born in a bar!

The Country Life team would like to thank all Veterans for their service to our country.  Especially the brave men and women who are proud to claim the title of United States Marines!
